Cary Woods Elementary is proud to name Ms. Kaila Sutterfield, second-grade teacher, as our 2025–26 Teacher of the Year!

Mrs. Sutterfield is a proud graduate of Auburn University with six years of teaching experience. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Elementary Education, further demonstrating her deep commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. Beyond the classroom, she also serves Auburn City Schools as a 9th grade girls’ basketball coach, pouring her leadership and passion into students both academically and athletically.

Ms. Sutterfield is known for her unwavering dedication to the success of every child she serves. Her colleagues describe her as someone who:
